“Grief is a form of protest - Keeps your heart soft and responsive to the world and what is alive. When we compress the terrain of grief, we also compress the terrain of joy and we end up living in a flatline culture which is where we are now."
~Francis Weller
Grief Tending
Sorrow needs to be honored and held by community, or else it can calcify and become destructive. Whether it is personal bereavement or heartbreak for the world, the privatized nature of grief in many cultures will not allow this potent energy to fully metabolize into life force, creativity and peace.
Through nature’s reflection, council, singing and creative embodiment practices, this restorative circle builds a community of safety for every kind of loss to transform into compassion and renewal, no matter how long it has been.
Co-led by Joseph Jastrab and Kala Smith, supported by artistic midwives.
